I believe that in this time of furlough, redundancy and general desperation many entrepreneurs will be born. It’s about clearing the fog and seeing where you might turn a bad position into a great opportunity.

Undoubtedly, there is a great resource of skills out there and the trick is believing that you can offer up your unique knowledge to people who don’t even know that they need it yet.

During lockdown I believe that I did just that.

I manufactured high street fashion for 30 years plus but had to close the company in 2018.

At the beginning of lockdown the supply chain from overseas was severely disrupted.

So I set up a company called Fashion Desk U.K. to produce from stock fabrics in U.K. factories for anyone who needed to pivot and fast.

From the beginning of April I have made various styles from 50 pieces up allowing the retailer to test the market. I even managed a repeat time of 8 days.

Sustainably sourced fabric, low carbon footprint, able to test the market to achieve good sell through.

Quick response without having to book big numbers.

Not everything needs to come back here and due to price, not everything will. So for the retailers who haven’t produced here before, I can make that happen for you. And thank you to the inspirational brand #Plumo
